Visit the special events of the National Museum! Celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the National Museum will take place throughout the year.
Interesting events for adults and children await you. We started the celebrations symbolically in April, as the National Museum was founded on 15 April 1818.
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of its foundation, the National Museum has prepared a special events. The first events took place over the weekend of 14–15 April.
Visitors had a chance to see behind the scenes in selected buildings of the National Museum for free.
But that is not all!
We celebrate for the entire year. We prepared special musical programmes in July, festivals in August and programmes focused on history in September.
The celebrations will culminate in October with the partial reopening of the Historical Building of the National Museum after its reconstruction by Czech-Sovak / Slovak-Czech Exhibition and 2 x 100 exhibition.
