Head of the Celt

Head of the Celt

Epoxy resin casting.

The stone head of the god from Mšecké Žehrovice is a world-famous find. The stone head of a man with a typical Celtic torques (neckpiece), moustache and eyebrows elegantly finished with a spiral was perhaps originally part of the whole statue. A unique rectangular fortified structure measuring 200 × 150 m (the so-called Viereckschanze), which is attributed sacred significance, was uncovered near the site.

Dimensions of head on base: w. 4.5 cm × h. 9.5 cm
