The publication summarizes the current state of knowledge of the oldest ceramic floor tiles in Bohemia and Moravia. These are Romanesque floor tiles of the Vyšehrad type, known fot their characteristic hexagonal shape and the quartet of different representations with which they are decorated. In recent years, a number of new finds have been added, so this type of floor tiles is currently known from eighteen sites. The book summarizes basic knowledge about their dating and iconography, together with a catalog, in which selected fragments of tiles from various locations are presented. The basis of the publication is a summary and critique of the sources on which the dating of our oldest floor tiles currently rests.
The e-book can be purchased in the online store Palmknihy.
