The personality of Vojta Náprstek is part of the Náprstek Museum's permanent exhibitions.
The life and work of Vojta Náprastek – founder of the Náprstek Museum, Prague patron, promoter of women’s education and progress in general – are presented in this small permanent exhibition.
The exhibition is devoted to: his family; his studies and the 1848 revolutions; his emigration to and life in America; the founding of a library after returning from the U.S.A.; the founding and activities of the American Ladies' Club; the founding of the Museum of Industry; his contacts with Czech and expatriate society; his relationships with travellers; and the subsequent development of the museum.
Texts are accompanied by period illustrations, photographs and copies of archive material.
Dear visitors, from Monday, May 5 to Wednesday, May 7, 2025 until 1 p.m., the entire area of the Náprstek Museum, including the courtyard, will be CLOSED for regular preventive protection of the collections. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
