Salon Dvořák

A chamber series dedicated to young performers, to whom the Antonín Dvořák Museum offers a space for concerts and artistic realisations in the inspiring surroundings of the Baroque summer palace Amerika.

The concert programme with a strong representation of outstanding chamber works by Czech composers will conclude this year's accompanying programme of the Antonín Dvořák Museum for the exhibition Antonín Dvořák: My Life and Work and the celebration of the Year of Czech Music 2024.

Amálie Dobšíková, started playing the violin at the Leoš Janáček Primary School of Arts in Havířov with her teacher Jarmila Gradková. She then graduated from the Prague Conservatory and now continues her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under the guidance of Prof. Jindřich Pazdera. She works with classical, modern and baroque music. Her studies have been accompanied by success in all fields. For example, she appreciates her selection for the Swiss course SIMA 2022, where she studied with Philip A. Draganov, a solo performance with the Czech Ensemble Baroque, a solo performance at the Academy of Versailles under Alessandro Tampieri, an invitation to perform in the French ensemble Les Musiciens de Saint - Julien, or the premiere of works by contemporary composers Jana Vöröšová and Jiří Trtík at the Szczecin Philharmonic.

She attended several master classes, e.g. in the aforementioned Switzerland at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, then at the Vienna University MUK - Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien with Ulrike Engels, French Baroque courses in Le Havre with Jozef Žák, or the Summer School of Baroque Music in Holešov with Martyna Pastuszka.

Štěpánka Plocková studied cello at the Brno Conservatory with Prof. Miroslav Zicha, and now continues her studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Prof. Miroslav Petráš. She has been participating in various competitions since she was a child. Her recent successes include participation in an international competition in Bratislava, 1st place in the Gustav Mahler Competition in Jihlava or victory in a national conservatory competition. She has had the opportunity to perform with orchestras such as the Brno Philharmonic, Czech Virtuosi and Capella Istropolitana. She also regularly participates in music courses, for example the Summer Academy in Kroměříž with Michaela Fukačová, or the Music Academy in Telč with Jerome Pernoo.

Pavol Praženica studied at the Gymnasium and Music School of the Capital City of Prague under the guidance of doc. Libuše Tichá, at the same time he studied solo singing as a minor in the class of MgA. Jaroslav Mrázek. He is currently studying at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under doc. Ivo Kahánek, he also regularly cooperates with prof. Alena Vlasáková and prof. Ivan Gajan. Among his greatest competitive achievements are 1. prize together with the prize for the most successful Slovak participant at the international competition Piano Talents for Europe in Dolny Kubin (2018), absolute victory at the national competition of conservatories and music high schools (2019), honorable mention and the prize of the Dean of the University of Ostrava at the Beethoven's Hradec 2022 competition. In 2023, he won, for example, 1st prize and a special prize for his interpretation of Bedřich Smetana's works at the International Smetana Piano Competition in Pilsen and 1st prize at the Elevato Piano Competition in Porto, Portugal.

He has attended masterclasses in Czech Republic and around the world under the tutelage of renowned performers such as Shai Wosner, Benedetto Lupo, Lukáš Klánský, Martin Kasík and others. As a soloist, he has collaborated with the Žilina State Chamber Orchestra, The Prague Symphony Orchestra, PKF Prague Philharmonia, the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra and the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also enthusiastic about chamber music and has collaborated with many performers and singers, including Josef Špaček, Vilém Vlček, Matteo Hager and others. Together with Natalia Toperczerová and David Pěruška, he was a member of the Vyšehrad Piano Trio, with which he won the 3. prize at the Antonín Dvořák International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Praga 2021.
