For a whole year, we followed Smetana and his monumental existence around the whole country - from Aš to the Beskydy mountains, or more specifically, from Karlovy Vary to Frýdek-Místek, from Nový Bor to Jindřichův Hradec and from Teplice to Uherské Hradiště.

The photographs document the situation of the year 2015; nonetheless, sometimes we also used historical photographs as they brought some interesting comparisons.
The sculptures speak. They speak about the Master and the way the epoch saw him. They speak about sculptors who portrayed him and the way they saw him. Last but not least, they speak about the finances spent.

The title of the exhibition should speak as well. It speaks of double oblivion. Master Smetana was materialized by the sculptors like a stone vision for the next generation. Was he forgotten or did he retain in people’s memory? Right now in 2015, our generation can’t fail to see that our Master was forgotten once again. Not always, yet painfully often. Forgotten by those who ought to take care of him today.
